The 29th 1975 Edition of Gun Digest had a complete catalog of Pope's Hartford products as well as a fine article written by Lucian Cary called "The Secrets Of The Old Master". According to the foot note in Gun Digest, the article was first published in the October 5th 1940 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. It seems that Cary called his "Old Master" J.M.Pyne, a thin disguise for Harry M. Pope. Mr. Cary died in 1971 at the age of 85. As it's unlikely that many of you have access to this hard to locate edition of Gun Digest, I thought you might enjoy reading them.
