Can't say I really had a reason. I just liked what I saw through the lens. Looked like it was squinching itself up to get in the frame.

More of a question than a comment, there is obviously some sun, there is light on the back of the petals and the leaf, is there a reason you chose to shoot a sunflower in this direction and not, to me, the more obvious brightly lit front? To me it almost looks a little sad, drooping away from the sun, and not the bright vibrant sunflower you normally see.
