The ship had to anchor the furthest out in Belize - 5 miles out. Even at that distance, the water was only 34 feet deep, giving the ship around 10' clearance.
In Belize City, we did the Jungle Hike/Cave tubing excursion at the Caves Branch river system (near Jaguar Paw Resort) in the Cayo District. The excursion warned that we would get 100% wet (which we did!), so I didn't take the digital camera with me. I regret not taking the camera (missed a lot of nice pictures), but it definitely would have gotten wet. The 45 minute hike through the rain forest was beautiful. We jumped into the river on some tubs and floated lazily down the river through 2 caves. We were in the dark close to 1/2 mile for each cave.
On the way back to the ship, we stopped for lunch at Cheers Restaurant.
