Each Keralan temple has an annual festival to appease the god to which the temple is dedicated. The celebrations include Keralan drum orchestras and caparisoned elephant processions. We were priviledged to attend a temple festival near the town of Palakkad as well as a devotion assembly dedicated to the Hindu saint, Sai Baba, held on the same day at another temple nearby.
