"Brewster's Warbler," West Newbury, Massachusetts, May 2004
Vermivora pinus x V. chrysoptera, a hybrid between Blue-winged Warbler and Golden-winged Warbler. This individual has the markings of a Blue-winged with the broad yellow wingbars of a Golden-winged, and may be a descendant of the male Golden-winged that has appeared on Turkey Hill Rd in West Newbury for the last few years.
Glen, I grew up in West Newbury and used to see both Blue & Golden Winged Warblers near "Grouse Hill" on Crane Neck St. Do you still see many in West Newbury?
There was another spot just down the road that was a warbler hot spot also.
