Shot in the Alabama Hills Recreation Area just outside of Lone Pine, CA. The rounded, heavily textured boulders comprising the Alabama Hills make a wonderful contrast with the jagged granite that composes the Sierra Range just to the west. Mobius Arch is an icon in this area and allows framing for several peaks within the Sierras, including Mt. Whitney (the highest peak in the lower 48). Pictured here is Lone Pine Peak. I was ecstatic when heading out to the arch and seeing all the clouds above the peaks. The sunrise colors were all I could've hoped for!
