Winter and Bark

We have not had much of a winter here in Oregon, but I did manage do get some really cold pictures and contrast them with the warmth of sunlit bark.

See...there is still some snowpack!
I especially like the "undulating" snow shots that remind me of images from another world, such as the smooth side of luner craters. Some of the close-up bark shots look like aerial images of a martian landscape (ok...I gotta stop listening to experimental electronic music when I look at pictures).

Brrrrrrrr . . . looks cold Markus. Really like your bark treatments. Sure wish you could have been at the dive club meeting last week. A group of very experienced UW photographers showed off what they had taken in the Solomon Islands. Really fantastic.
