There are a number of easy trails in the Arboretum area. Don't miss the Water Garden Trail for prime wildflower viewing. Some of the species that you can expect to see in the Arboretum include: Common Camas (Camassia quamash), Tall Larkspur (Delphinium trolliifolium), Hooker's Fairy Bells (Prosartes hookeri), Henderson's Shooting Star (Dodecatheon hendersonii), Western Sweet-Cicely (Osmorhiza occidentalis), Western Trillium (Trillium ovatum), Oregon Fawn Lily (Erythronium oregonum), Pacific Bleeding Heart (Dicentra formosa), Stream Violet (Viola glabella), Western Meadowrue (Thalictrum occidentale), False Solomon's-Seal (Maianthemum racemosum), Star-Flowered Solomon's-Seal (Maianthemum stellatum), and Pacific Waterleaf (Hydrophyllum tenuipes).
While the summit trail is more difficult, it is certainly worth the effort. Species which bloom along the trail and at the summit include: Western Buttercup (Ranunculus occidentalis), Oregon Iris (Iris tenax), Monkey Flower (Mimulus guttatus), Rose Checker-Mallow (Sidalcea malviflora ssp. virgata), Oregon Fawn Lily (Erythronium oregonum), Great Hound's-Tongue (Cynoglossum grande), Henderson's Shooting Star (Dodecatheon hendersonii), Spring Gold (Lomatium utriculatum), Oregon saxifrage (Saxifraga oregana), Large-flowered Nemophila (Nemophila menziesii), Wild Strawberry (Fragaria virginiana), and Small-Flowered Prairie Star (Lithophragma parviflora).
