HAYNES DESCRIPTION:
The 1957 Vauxhall introduced the PA series Cresta and Velox, both bearing the influence of American styling in body, shape and style. In August 1960 the engine of these six cylinder models was increased to 2653cc, offering performance similar to that of the MKIII Ford Zephyr, with a maximum speed of 90 MPH and a 0-70 MPH of 25 seconds. With an all weight up of over a ton, the fuel consumption was heavy at around 20 MPG. Despite this and echoing then current American practise the body work with its two tone finish proved very popular.
