Some young kids used a net to catch this frog at Mud Lake. The frogs body started getting sticky from being out of the water so they dunked it a few times. They also managed to capture a pair of Painted Turtles and took them all with them including the frog.
The new wood bridge at Mud Lake is built low to the water and this makes it very easy for anyone to reach down with a net and catch things like frogs, catfish, turtles and tadpoles. On a warm sunny afternoon quite a few youngsters could be found on the bridge doing this very thing. Bridges whose patform is higher up like the one at the Jack Pine Trail would make this kind of activity harder to do.
