This is a very cooperative Snowy Owl. I spent about 45 minutes observing and photographing it. During that time it stretched several times, yawned a couple times and even pooped. There were about 6 or 7 other photographers taking all this in. I wanted to use fill-flash but the flash was holstered in a case secured with velcro. I feared that the loud velcro unzipping would spook the owl so no flash this time. I shot this handheld in an uncomfortable position so needed a higher ISO to counter the bad shake. Next time I plan to bring a tripod. The late afternoon sun cast a warm glow on the owl. In the mornings it can be found sitting on the ground and in the afternoons often perched on a low fence post. It's a regular there which hopefully means plenty more photo ops in the coming months.
