Trying to get a clean full-frame shot of this owl in the Jack Pines is a challenge to say the least. However, that didn't stop me or any of the other photographers there from trying. Many were content to just get a head and chest shot. Chest if you were lucky.

One of the best photographic opportunities is to stand in an open area at the back of the Jack Pines on the left side and wait for a flushed owl to fly across which surprisingly happened quite a bit while I was standing there. I saw 4 owls flying across in the span of 30 minutes. Two of them flew straight toward me.
