From the back you can see the juvenile is starting to look more like an adult barred owl. It still has a lot of down on the chest.
My patience is finally paying off. Junior perched in the open with the background far enough away. From that branch the juvenile owl flew some 100+ feet straight at me. I mean straight at me, at eye-level.
I saw just about every wing stroke....looked like it was flying in slow motion too. Owlet landed only 7 feet in front of where I was standing, at eye-level,looking at me with those big rounds eyes. Too cute. It was awesome.
