Overnight freezing rains felled powerlines leaving a number of homes in the dark. CFRA radio reports that "Hydro One now estimates it will be Monday afternoon before hydro is restored to all customers in eastern Ontario. The Boxing Day ice storm knocked out power to thousands of customers east and west of Ottawa. Hydro One says residents in Vankleek Hill, Winchester, Cobden, Tweed, Arnprior and Perth lost power on Sunday."
Sunday morning, trees crackled under the weight of ice ladened branches. After a quick breakfast, headed out to a favourite nature place to see how things were doing there. Caught this little fella happy to see me and doing its best to cope with the new icy surroundings.
Photographed with one of my favourite lenses, the Canon 70-200 2.8L + Canon TC 1.4x. Fill-flash with Canon 580ex II flash.
