Imagine my surprise when this young Coopers Hawk, one of three from the same brood, landed right in front of me. I had my 70-200 2.8L lens and had to zoom back to 98mm to take this photo, about 90% full-frame.
It was crying out the whole time. After the excitement of seeing a hawk this close up, I noticed a small bird in its talon. These hawks put on a great show for a few hours. I hope to photograph them over the next several weeks. It is a priviledge to see raptors this close.
