Well observed and photographed. Actually some Virginia Plantation had communal outhouses. I remember one at Westover and I believe Mt. Vernon had one too.

Superb remains of the past. Constructions was also elaborated on a human scale. The Times were often rude but the "art de vivre" was more delicate than to-day...V.

As a boy I remember going to summer camp. There was a six holer, with no dividing walls, outhouse for the boys. This looks much more pleasant.
