artifacts

likely we each accumulate personal artifacts...in this case the Pentax, my first SLR, but bought second hand, dates from the late 1960s...the shutter seized up permanently during the mid 1970s, yet of course could not bear to part with the camera...the Guinness piggy bank, (well loaded with emergency beer money) dates from slightly later, although the rusted tray, brought over by a friend, is of in-determinant age...the Kachina Doll is a relatively recent acquisition, picked up two months ago, at the Cameron Trading Post in northern Arizona

That is really cool! Is that some type of meter on top? I should photograph some of my old equipment too.

Oh wow, I started out with Pentax too! My first SLR was a Honeywell Pentax H3! What model is yours?

Eclectic array of memories, David. I still have my Canon FX circa 1970. Vote.

I like the Ilford film tin. I always liked using their film although I don't remember the tins. When I bought it the film was sold in boxes.

An eclectic collection of your favorite things! i love how random they seem to be. That Pentax is probably a collectors item about now in spite of the frozen up shutter. All the collectibles look in great shape and good together! And yes that tray is priceless! (Good one Gill!)

I LIKE THAT TRAY!

Unfortunate positioning of the Kachina in the mouth of the crocodile... Interesting tray though.

What an interesting collection of artifacts, and nicely captured. Funny, I have gotten very good at getting rid of things that don't work or for which we have no space, nostalgia notwithstanding.
Gill Kopy23-Feb-2017 02:23
My sons would give their eye teeth for that tray :) My laugh of the day :) Great collection David !!

Nice collection, well arranged. Each with its own specific memory. I have my first SLR, a 1966 Pentax Spotmatic. I believe it still works, though it's been easily twenty years since I used it.

I really like this, David.. Love these old remembrances !!
