botched

Machu Picchu, Peru

in all likelihood we have all botched a photo opportunity at various times...just prior to the Peru trip my Pentax SLR seized up, the shutter expired forever...still I did manage to borrow a Canon AE-1, with an after-market telephoto lens, for the trip.. clearly I was not familiar with the camera, and further complicated the adventure by taking slide film, much less forgiving than negative film...here is one shot to prove (the sky was cloudy, yet completely blown out here) that, taken at the famous lost city of the Incas...once again my old friend provides a focal point

Canon AE-1...Kodachrome

Really like the colors of the slide film and the feel it has, which is not achievable with digital images. Yes, using film was unforgiving and required skill, I enjoyed the challenge, and I know you did too. Great job with the borrowed camera. A wonderful memory to cherish. "V"

Kodachrome was great for color as per the green here, and the slides have a long shelf life. V

Well, despite all, you did get a good capture showing this fascinating place! Nicely composed, and the lush greens are quite appealing.
