evocative

near Chaco Canyon, New Mexico

eons of erosion have weathered the sandstone hoodoos into evocative shapes...Dan called this one 'tired old man with hat', which characterizes it well...in addition, there seems a smaller, frog-like face emerging too

this is one of a small cluster of hoodoos encountered along Highway 57 (in truth a bumpy gravel road) south of Chaco Canyon

It does look like a man with a hat. Intriguing work by Mother Nature and a lovely capture.

Nice capture of this character, David. While that group of hoodoos was isolated, they were no less spectacular from what we discovered in Bisti.

Kinda turns me on! lol... Bet you hiked a bit to find this. Imagine the years of erosion to create this wonderful abstract work of art.

This could even be a dog wearing a French beret! ;)

Cette formation rocheuse est magnifique et laisse deviner un visage. V

Fascinating apparition in the desert, so rich in detail. Looking at it long enough one can see several faces. This would be mind blower if viewed on peyote.

It is strange. I also see a face although not sure what it is. Nice capture..
