survivor

this is Vancouver's oldest building, dating from 1867...it was a store attached to a mill, providing supplies for workers...the modest structure was one of the few buildings to survive the great fire of 1884, and in 1930 it was moved to it's present location in Pioneer Park...on this day the view of the front was somewhat lost in shadows, so here is a slightly enigmatic view of the south side, benefitting from some low winter sunlight

Very lovely, the low sunlight warms the colours beautifully and enhances that wonderful tree shadow. It is gratifying to see this historic building preserved for future generations. Beautiful image, David.
