damage

Jericho Beach Park

in terms of recent photographic opportunities, winter has been the winner with consistent months of dismal, and occasionally icy weather...on the few clearer days the damage has become evident...the victim here is a willow tree, one of many felled around the pond by a voracious beaver...might have to take a brief break at this moment, so many plans scotched by the damp, grey conditions

Still, this is a beautiful image. Your composition is spot on and this looks like a lovely place.
Hope other Willows are surviving nicely.

It is tough when it is grey and driech, but still my favourite season here. Things will start sprouting soon - remember patience is genius!

What a gorgeous composition, I mean I am not happy about what the beavers have done, in spite I do like this image. Fine work David. V

Beaver: the chain saws of the animal world. The park is a lovely place for a leisurely stroll. V

Apparently a dead tree can harbour more life than a living one, so I'm told.

Sorry to see the damage the winter has brought. I saw a large beautiful pine down yesterday from the ice, snow and wind damage. Nice capture V

Oh my, poor willow tree! As Jane said, nice orange tones. Our weather has been for ages so grey, no sun, only snowing and snowing. Very bad photo options. Waiting so much for the spring to come, I think it's on it's way ... *V*

That is a very large tree for beaver to tackle. Spring seems close, David,
even here.
Margot W10-Feb-2013 01:53
I had no idea they would tackle such a large tree.
Interesting photo and I like being able to look beyond to the walker on the path.

A shame to lose a big willow tree. Looks like a nice place for a walk. I like the orange tones on the branches. Hope your weather improves. Might be best to stay home, have a nice drink and work on some music until the sun comes out again.
