number games

a more full-on view of the recently renovated stadium...projects like this one that involve public money inevitably seem to run over budget, but politicians are adept at confusing number games...the original budget for the upgrade was $365 million, though the final cost was $563 million...same digits, quite a different price tag though

That often seems to br the case when it's public money which is being spent. It looks great though, like a bejeweled crown.

Still looks like a sci-fi lift off to me...as for the cost, it's only money, a worthless good -- cannot eat it, wear it, or sleep with it (unless it's under the mattress)

The difference between politicians and us, the common citizens, is that they can juxtapose numbers like this. If I were to tell a client that my original estimate had doubled, I would not get paid.
