I found this hawk carcass near our woodshed. We are having a hard time Identifying it, it may be a Coopers hawk. It is quite small, and has distinct banding on the tail feathers.

Martha surprised me by suddenly asking to use my camera to photograph me. Martha is not a photographer and seldom makes photographs. If she does, it is with her little Canon Elph point and shoot. She picked up my old 1ds with a 35mmf2 which was sitting on the kitchen counter and asked which button to press. I showed her. The camera was set on program, ISO 250. She shot several frames, 1/10 of a second at f2.
