While the colors are more vibrant because of the late afternoon, they look to be particularly well fed with the shrimp that result in the dark pink colors.
Thank you for your comments. For as long as I can remember, on trips to the San Diego Zoo, the flamingo pools opposite the entry gates have always been one of my favorite stops.
