The view from my bedroom window. Cilhaul Terrace is where my father was born in 1918 and he has lived in Mountain Ash all his life, except for military service in World War II. The finger like marks in the mountainside just above the houses are small levels which the valley's coal miners sunk to get coal to keep their familes warm during the bitter strike of 1926.
