The remarkable wall paintings in this church were made in 1927-1928 by a remarkable artist, Chris Lebeau, who called himself a 'religious anarcho-communist'. His style has a socialist look indeed, the themes, however, are Christian themes, but who looks carefully will discover the faces of Gandhi and Lenin in one of the paintings.
