Images taken on two ATV trips through Martinez Canyon to Martinez Mine. Discovered in 1880, it produced gold and silver. Martinez Mine resides in the remote, steep Martinez Canyon. It is considered one of the best-preserved, original-condition mine sites in the state of Arizona. It was owned for about 40 years by a long time family of the town of Florence. It is now owned by the Bureau of Land Management. The canyon resides about 17 miles off AZ RT. 79 in a very remote part of the Pinal Mountains. The road is rated difficult in many places and the Martinez loop at the end of the route is extremely dangerous and will most proabably cause body damage to vehicles.
