Orange Bug (Hemiptera; Heteroptera; Largidae?)

Gurrumuru area, NT, Australia

The true bugs have sucking mouthparts and include sap suckers (such as aphids and cicadas), predatory insects (such as "water
scorpions" and Assassin Bugs), and pod suckers. This brightly coloured bug has doubtlessly got some rather hideous defensive
weaponry which I didn't want to test, but it appeared to be sharing its meal with an ant. It could possibly be feeding on the last
seed in the seed pod of this very prickly plant.
