Eastern water skinks are a variable species which may in the future be found to be a complex of species. These lizards are usually
only found close to water, but in the south coast region of NSW this form can be found living well away from the nearest creekline.
Water skinks are live-bearing and omnivorous. They are intelligent, sun-loving lizards which are a joy to watch.
