These distinctive birds are mound-builders, scraping together organic material into a huge mound and using the heat generated
by the process of decomposition to incubate the eggs. Some populations are likely to be hit hard by climate change, while other
populations have decided they enjoy living in the suburbs and are taking over gardens. Remarkably, the young Brush-turkeys are
fully independent on hatching and can fly within hours of leaving the nest.
