John characterises himself as actively content. He doesn’t so much believe he chooses to learn but rather that learning has long been his vocation. While music has always been a large part of his life, John has also sustained enthusiasm for politics, literature, architecture, art, and philosophy. It’s easy to understand why he chose to moderate a study group on The New Yorker. He also loves travelling and outdoor activities such as running, cross-country skiing, hiking, and walking.
