NGC6995 (Eastern Veil Nebula) in Cygnus

Nerpio/Spain

More than 5000 years ago a supernova exploded about 1500 lightyears away towards the constellation of Cygnus. It created an expanding shell of heated gas, whose eastern part we see in above image.
