NGC6995 (Eastern Veil Nebula) in Cygnus


More than 5000 years ago a supernova exploded about 1500 lightyears away towards the constellation of Cygnus. It created an expanding shell of heated gas, whose eastern part we see in above image.
The whole supernova remnant, the so called 'Cygnus loop', can be seen here
