We watched the longest total solar eclipse of the century from board of the cruise ship 'Costa Classica' approx. 100km NE of Iwo Jima.
Weather was perfect, the few small cumulus clouds disappeared when we approached totality, and those remaining at the horizon build a dramatic background during totality.
Totality started at 2:09 UT and lasted for 6'42.3". We gained an extra of three seconds due to the movement of the ship along the center line.
