Clinton/Obama at Virginia Jefferson-Jackson Dinner

Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama addressed a crowd of about 6,000 people at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Siegel Center in Richmond, three days before Virginia’s presidential primary. The event coincided with the Virginia Democrat's annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner, which was moved to the Siegel Center to accomodate the much higher than normal attendance.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us. It's encouraging to see such huge turnout for democratic candidates at the diner and the primaries - in a traditionally republican state. This is a good sign!

Carolyn, It was also my impression that this event was normally held at the Jefferson Hotel, but I really don't know that. This was first and only time I have attended. I thought I saw a reference to the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner being held at the Richmond Convention Center last year, but I am not certain of this. Clearly they needed a larger venue for this year's dinner because of the billing by Clinton and Obama. Garrie

Thanks for these great pictures Garrie. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this event usually held at the Jefferson hotel or a like venue? I am truly amazed at all of the people that attended.
