The seven star form of the "Stars and Bars" flag represents the very first of a number of different "official" flags of the Confederacy. It was raised over the dome of the first capital of the Confederacy (Montgomery, Alabama) on May 4, 1861. This flag was flying high on the day of the march on a property located in close proximity to the Powhatan Courthouse.
