Stunning photography! You are probably related to my husband, his last name is Lau and you look alike. Are you from Hawaii? His grandfather was born and raised there and still has a sister named Cindy Lau in chinatown who owns a lei shop. Anyways, very nice work!!

Got nostalgia for Cal and checked out LGBRC which lead me to your page of Cat's hill photos. See your doing good with your photos and still at after all these years. I have only a couple photos on Flicker but one is a nice white tiger. Need to get out with my camera more. What are you using these days? i bought a Pentex k20d last year. If you don't remember me no problem it has been a long time since I was in LGBRC.

Garrett,
You photography is stunning. I live in San Jose, took a picture of a bird on my balcony. It looks like a juvenile hawk or falcon. If I sent it to you, could you help me identify it? Paula Marcoux

I was searching the web for pictures of Anna's Hummingbirds and found your images were by far the most beautiful. I was so impressed with your gallery that I spent over an hour lost in your work. You are truely a gifted artist. Karen

I just spotted a bird and ended up looking at your pictures to try to id it (leaning toward juvenile red-shouldered hawk at this point.) Your photos are so gorgeous! I can't believe some of the shots you've captured. I'll definitely be returning to this site to see more of your work.

I love your racing photos there is never any doubt about who it is and what's going on. OF all the people taking race photo's I think you are consistently the clearest and sharpest. Thanks for posting them

Garrett, I just hopped over to your gallery from birdforum.net. I regularly visit Arrowhead Marsh, and was very impressed by your Arrowhead Marsh bird photos, especially the sometimes hard-to-see Clapper Rail. Great work!

Hey, Garrett, u remember we met and birded coyote point and radio road area gee over 6months ago? i had a video camera? i wasn't feeling well but still had a good time seeing some decent birds thereabouts. anyway, i've moved to alabama now, and so far so good! recently filmed swainson's, wormeating, kentucky, hooded warblers so close plus louisiana waterthrushes, etc. the birds are so different here! never knew u had a photo gallery until now, it's great, thanks! will be in calif. aug. 31st-sept. 22nd; i'm interested in the screech owl if it's still around; would prefer vocals, which i doubt are available? also, have u been to pt. pelee in may? u must if u haven't already! i filmed 29 warbler species there this year, it was awesome!! i'll be back there in '07. please email me when u have time!

It was good to see you during the Early Bird Criterium in Fremont that day. Calming, somehow. So neat to hear about bird photography - I can imagine that photographing birds and photographing racers might be similar. I like the photos you took that day - for me they seem like some of the most flattering race photos of me i've seen, but maybe that's also because i was concentrating on smiling all day. Instead of grimacing or looking scared, which i was/felt.
My friend, Jerry Casey, who is a mechanic & a sports & wedding photographer, and who is now working with me for the architects, says that you are famous. So i'm flattered you're with our team.
But really, the birds & the art shots just blow me away with how beautiful they are.
Sometimes, on nice days, i like to take my camera out for a spin and photograph the most beautiful things i see. see some neat things riding - a pair of owls 15 feet from me at dusk, a bobcat, the light on the reservoir in the morning, the SF skyline across the bay at sunset, or just the fog on the hill or flowers in bloom. I'm just a novice, but it's still fun.
just wanted to check in/ see what you are up to.
Did you do a bird calendar that's for sale somewhere?
Clint McClintic 23-Feb-2006 01:09
I live in Palo Alto, walk the baylands often, have only a few good shots. Your photography is magnificent and Iappreciate having these for reference and for beauty. My speciality is travel watercolors

Hi just dropped by and noticed you were using the 70-200mm F4L lens, was wondering if you could tell me how it works on your 20D since i also own a 20D and am considering purchasing the canon 70-200mm F4L lens. Please respond soon if you can.

DO you have more photos from the Master 1/2/3 field? I was at the front and in the mix a lot, there should have been some good photo opps.

Thanks,

enjoyed your bird photos. Not familiar with Palo Alto Bay Lands. I assume lots of visitors there as you were very close to the juvenile avocet with a fairly short lens. If the birds are not used to people, I would like to know your technique.
