This is the lowest public floor of the Queen Victoria Building. The ground floor and two upper levels can be seen, all full of shops. An earlier City Council planned to pull it down for a car park. It had been divided up for wartime offices etc., and from that time was not a very appealing sight. The public uproar must have stirred an overseas businessman to acquire and totally and beautifully restore it to its original appearance.
