NGC 1532

Gravitationally disrupted by its dwarf companion NGC 1531, NGC 1532 is an edge on galaxy about 50 million light years away in the constellation Eridanus. This deep image shows the very faint tidal streams and halo.

This is a 10.5 hr LRGB image (270, 120, 120, 120 mins). Subs were 15 mins.

FOV is 50.2 x 34.3 arcmins @ 1.05 arcsec/pixel.

Takahashi TOA-150 refractor @ F11.7 (FL=1760mm) using an SBIG STL 11000M camera. full exif
