Hawthorn (Crataegus)

We have quite a few hawthorns around the garden, some I distinctly remember planting, and I know others have planted some too, but the rest? Hoping they are starting to appear on their own. There is an English hawthorn planted long ago, not by us, and now dying. But as to which species the others are, I am not sure. Hawthorns are difficult to ID, and their are so many cultivars, even when labeled 'native', they may not be.
