Bladdernut shrub (Staphylea trifolia)

This shrub is a thicket forming species in locations where it is happy. At the FWG, we have only a couple of shrubs, both planted by us, one near the Amphibian Pond, one in the BYG. This native shrub is relatively rare in the Ottawa area, though there is a good stand at Petrie Island, close to the river.
