My daughter and son-in-law enjoy Japanese food very much. My son-in-law even tried fugu (blowfish) when he was last in Japan. Because it is very toxic, it has to be carefully prepared and monitored by the sushi chef so you don't get a lethal reaction to it. My son-in-law is sitting here with a big grin on his face, so I think he managed to survive his fugu encounter!
The sushi here at Wasabi was surprisingly very good for a small town. The chef wrapped the rolls tightly, cut the sashimi into uniformly even slices, and laid everything out neatly. It was obvious that he paid attention to proper presentation. The tempura soba in broth was excellent, too. It was well-balanced and tasted even better than the soba at a famous cheap soba joint in New York City where Japanese expatriates like to go. No wonder Wasabi was recently rated the #1 Japanese restaurant in the state by Connecticut Magazine.
