Just a long weekend in Riga, including a trip at the beaches of Jurmala and the jewish memorial at Salaspils. Food and music were outstanding.
This was an open air exhibition of Latvian photographers on the theme: One day in Latvia
Jurmala, a short 30 km trip by train.
Actually Jurmala is a set of villages and locations. Here we are at Majori.
The Swan Lake at the Riga Opera Hall
The statue of Libery holding the stars representing the regions of Latvia
4th of May is a feast related to the independence of Latvia.
It is also an important music festival Jazz rock in the parks, starting with a brass band contest. You should see them *dance* while playing!
In the orthodox church
The girls were asking all bypassers top add one flower to update the map of Latvia
The jewish memorial of Salaspils at 15-20 km from Riga
In the middle of nowhere this was a concentration camp during WW II where the people did all kind of hard work and then being further selected for going in the other camps in Germany
One typical restaurant in the center of old Riga
North of Riga 7 km of tram there are 3 cemeteries, one of them for soldiers.
They are located next to parks, amusement area and the zoological park, hence a popular location.
The last two pictures again taken in a typical restaurant, actually this one is more of a team-room.
Je ne connais rien de la Lettonie mais, belles baraques, belles femmes (je m'en doutais), belles sculptures. J'espère que la bouffe était bonne.
Acceptent-ils les chevaux dans les hôtels ?
