A stunning sunset on our first night in Lake Taupo on NZ's Northern Island.
The backdrop looks south across Great Lake Taupo towards the incredible 'Tongariro' national Park.
From Left to right the volcanoes are Mount Ruapehu, Mount Ngaurahoe (AKA Mount Doom in the Lord of the Rings Trology) and finally the lowest, youngest and most active, Mount Tongariro.
Mount Tongariro was erupting frequently during our trip and every so often, plumes of smoke could be seen on the flanks of the volcano.
