This was the stunning sunrise we awoke to on New Years morning!
Still jet lagged, I was up and about at 4am so took a stroll behind my family's Beach house on the Pukehina Beach bar (pronounced 'pooky-heena') to capture this image.
If you look closely you can see a bonfire further up the beach with numerous drunken kiwi's sleeping on the beach :)
