A waterlily in our garden. A photographical technique that I'd been thinking about trying for a long time, but you need to use a tripod, and I'm a lazy woman, so it's been postponed over and over ... Anyhow, this is "sandwiching" or a "double-exposure" which, with film, can be done in and out of camera. With digital, too, I guess, since some allow multiple exposures. Anyhow, I took a photo of the waterlily, fully in focus, then one with the exact same camera position, but out of focus and with more shallow depth of field. Overlayed them in photoshop, played around with opacities and lots of other stuff, finally erased a little more of the blurred image in the center of the flower. |
