The plaque reads:

"In Loving Memory Of BRIAN QUILLIGAN Who Tragically Drowned While Fishing On 9th October 2011 And to all others who tragically lost their lives to the River Lee May they all rest in peace By Mark Quilligan"

Mark, his brother, carved this out of a single piece of wood.
