A Truly 'Great Egret'

This egret was scouting for food at Delta Ponds. I got some pictures during a little break in the rain. We have had some real storms lately, with high wind damage. More is coming this weekend. Today the ponds were running high, with water rushing in from the Willamette River. Most of the birds have left for cover.

Just beautiful, Vern, and the egret looks so lovely against the dark blue water background. My mother-in-law says even in Milwaukie they have had a huge amount of water.

They are very elegant water birds along with the Blue Heron, this is a nice shot
with good exposure and a natural setting.
