Chimney Rock

As a kid, I always looked for Cnimney Rock every time we went to town from our small farm in the country.
This is only a small part of the scenic beauty of the area wherre I grew up.
Chimney Rock still stands as a sentinel along a beautiful stretch of Jasper-Lowell Road.

A well named rock with some great light on it!

Beautiful shot and quite a landmark. Yes, we have a Chimney Rock at Point Reyes National Seashore just north of San Francisco too. It's one of the best birding (and wildflower) locations in California.

Excellent capture of this scene, Vern. Was that really a chimney? If not it did a great impersonation. \/

Good thing it was named chimney, but I'll bet teenagers call it something else.

It's interesting to see how the trees stand straight and tall, just like chimney rock!

That sure is a good looking outcropping. If this were in Ohio, it'd be a State Park!
P.S. I wonder how many formations like this around the country are called "Chimney Rock"? I've seen quite a few.

Great light! I did not know of this rock before.
