The artwork gives recognition to the McKenzie River drift boat, designed by a local resident for use on the McKenzie River.
This style of boat has gained some recognition across the nation.

The more I look at this sign, the more I like it. The designer did an excellent job of incorporating the boat into a wave like structure, but the actual wordage is still very prominent. Even their lighting is exceptional. I like the burried strip lights, as well as the subtle interior lights.

That's a great sign, and photo of it. When I saw the first photo (your close-up) , my first thought was the bow of a boat, but it just didn't fit in with the rest of the image.
