Scary Roots

The size of the roots and it being alive forcing it's way into the ancient treasure of the walls of the temple. With the dark opening and its eeriness, it gives me the impression as though I am entering a .....

This looks like it's straight out of Indiana Jones's "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Love the tones and sinister atmosphere. That dark door beckons the eye.

We have made very similar images of this temple Ta Prohm, part of the Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia.
I made mine seven years ago - it's athttp://www.pbase.com/image/20740639 . Yours was made more recently -- the root structure has changed somewhat. You converted your image to a sepia tone, which makes it seem as if this image was made long ago. I chose to stick with color, to bring up the differences in coloration between the stone and the roots. I give a hint of what might lie within, while you abstract your image so that door opening is entirely black. The position of the stones, however, are identical. I think both images succeed in bringing up the incongruous battle between the hand of man and the work of nature.

Very spooky looking! Like a battle between the ancient forces of man and the even more ancient forces of nature. Loving it.
